Strolz custom ski boots are the only customised orthopaedic ski boots available and each pair crafted are completely unique to the anatomy of your foot.

Strolz are produced in Austria at the factory in Langen and Strolz craftsmanship is second to none. By choosing to purchase a pair of Strolz custom made ski boots, you'll be assured of comfort and enjoyment that will last for years to come.
For specific foot problems such as club feet and pinned ankles, a specialist boot will be produced in Austria in a three to four week period. This modified boot will then be fitted by Steven in the UK. All other foot problems can be dealt with from the complete range we carry in stock.

All Strolz ski boots sold in the UK are expertly fitted by Steven Hankin who now has over 24 years experience with Strolz.
Having worked at Cairnwell Ski School which was run by the renowned Austrian skier, Gustav Fischnaller, Steven first came across Strolz boots when he began wearing them and fitting others for their own pairs. He remained at Glenshee ski teaching race training and running the Ski School until leaving in 1988 having gained two teaching qualifications which he then took with him to Les Menuires, France where he ran his next Ski School until returning to the UK in 1993.
Steven then spent the next two years managing the artificial ski slope in Harrogate alongside race training the Ravens Ski Club and the Yorkshire and Humbershire Squad.
Steven went on to start his own business in 1996, Glide and Slide in Otley, which he still runs today and is recognized as a specialist ski and snowboard retail outlet. Using the knowledge he gained during his time at Cairnwell, Steven began supplying and fitting Ski Boots to his clientele. In 1999 when Gustav returned to Austria, it was agreed that Steven, with his extensive knowledge and love of Strolz, should continue as the sole UK importer and his new base in Yorkshire would act as a more central location.
Each year, Steven visits the Strolz factory in Langen, Austria in order to be fully up to date with any changes to the boots and excitingly last year saw the introduction of a new boot with improved clips and easier entry inner.
The Process
Fit Analysis
Every foot is unique and by imprinting your foot, your Strolz ski boot will be created to model this data. As part of the analysis process, we take your individual foot print and capture the exact volume of your feet to the millimetre, ensuring optimum fit.
Also at the first meeting we also determine your skier type and match you with the correct shell configuration dependant on your weight, physiology and ability level.
Boot Creation
The data from your foot analysis is transferred manually by hand to your ski boot with the leather inner and shell both being modelled identically to your last.
Your custom ski boot is then crafted by Steven Hankin so as to ensure your boots compliment your unique foot print.
Fitting
The final stage is then to individually and anatomically complete the ski boot through the foaming process.
A foot bed is prepared that correctly supports your foot in the ski boot and is expertly fitted for you.
Any high spots or problem areas are then padded where necessary so that the foaming process can be undertaken, resulting in the creation of your unique boot liner.
Once this process has been fully completed, after 24 hours your Strolz ski boots are ready for you to use and enjoy!
