We are currently looking for a boot fitter, ski technician and sales assistants to join our team at Glide & Slide. All the positions are full-time and will be starting in September/October.Full product training will be given to help you better understand the brands, and opportunities to test and review new products are also available.

Glide & Slide is a well-known and highly respected, family run, ski shop, best known for its ski boot fitting expertise and customer service. As the only stockist in the UK of Strolz made-to-measure ski boots, we have one of the best reputations for ski boot fitting in the country. We feel it is important that all staff have skiing experience and can therefore help customers with their knowledge and understanding of the sport.

Current Vacancies

Boot Fitters - £11.00 per hour

We are looking for full-time Ski Boot Fitters to join the team in a well-established, independent ski shop in Otley West Yorkshire. As a ski boot fitter you will be responsible for guiding the customer through the process of selecting the correct boot for them, before going on to fit and modify the boot as required. This requires a large amount of skill and attention to detail. You will also be expected to work in the other areas of the shop, although boot fitting will be your priority.

The ideal candidate will have prior ski boot fitting experience, however we are willing to offer the right candidate a trainee boot-fitter position where you will be given full training and be able to learn first-hand from some of the most experienced, and highly regarded ski boot fitters in the country.

Responsibilities

· Ski Boot fitting

· Advising and helping customers select the correct equipment

· Re-stocking and sales

· Using the till and taking payments

· Answering the phone and booking appointments

· Ski Boot fitting experience

Sales Assistant

Full Positions Available - £10.50 per hour

We are looking for a full-time and part-time, seasonal Sales Assistant to join the team in a well-established, independent ski shop in Otley West Yorkshire. The role of sales assistant is to help and advise customers with sales, create exciting shop displays and offer excellent levels of customer service.

Responsibilities

· Help customers with sales

· Restock and tidy shop floor

· Create exciting shop displays

· Answering shop phone

· Using the till and taking payments

Ideal candidate

· Retail sales experience

· Able to work in a team

· Good interpersonal skills

· Keen skier

· Approachable and ready to learn

The contract will start from October and end at Easter.

Ski Technician - £11.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

We are looking for a full-time, Ski Technician to join the team in a well-established, independent ski shop in Otley West Yorkshire. As a Ski Technician you will be responsible for running the workshop and servicing our customer's skis and snowboards. Although the role of Technician will be your priority you will be expected to work in other areas of the shop and there is the possibility that the role could also be split with the role of Ski Boot Fitter.

The ideal candidate will have prior ski technician experience, however we are willing to offer the right candidate a trainee technician position where you will be given full training.

Responsibilities

· Servicing our customer's ski and snowboards

· Mounting Ski Bindings following industry standard practices

· Managing the workshop (good time managment is essential)

· Advising customers about what service their equipment requires

· Answering the phone and using the till
